Fill The Void is officially live! I have no idea where this experiment will ultimately lead, but I’m very excited to start the journey.
The inspiration for FTV came from the early days of the FOODNOUNS project. I can remember getting to check out the art for the first time and seeing the Void head and hearing about why it was included in the project as a reminder that not everyone has food. I have been a gardener for several years and we’ve done our best to try and care for our local community through sharing our homestead harvest, starting a community garden, and doing food drives for those in need. But we’re just one small community. The need is much larger than just us.
So what if we could unlock the power of web3 and unleash creativity on the problem? That’s my hope for FTV. There are 83 different heads in the FOODNOUNS project, and 3 auctions potentially per day, so we should have a new Void approximately once per month. I bought the first 3 in anticipation of this project, but here’s what I’d like to see happen as we move forward:
1. When a new Void auction begins, we announce our mission on social media to gather donations to help Fill The Void in some way, big or small, across the world.
2. The winner of the Void auction will join our crew here at Fill The Void.
3. We’ll meet together as a group to decide how we will distribute the proceeds to help raise awareness of our mission and get resources to those who need them most. We could use many different paths to distribute funds, such as:

- Prop House.
- Previous ideas from the community that haven’t been funded yet or could utilize additional funding.
- Supporting existing local, national, or international organizations.
- Some other creative idea that hasn’t been invented yet.
The Void Heads will vote on the ideas with each NFT counting as one vote.
4. Whatever project/s receive the most votes will be funded, documented, and promoted across multiple channels to increase the awareness of the mission and hopefully encourage more donations in the future.
5. We wait until the next Void is born. It could be in 8 hours or 80 days, we simply don’t know. That’s part of the fun.
